American Sign Language Basics for Youth (Ages 10-14)

In this two-hour workshop, students will learn the manual alphabet, how to correctly fingerspell words and numbers as well as pick up on some common signs and symbols. Tips on how to interact effectively with the Deaf community will also be discussed. Instructor Tim Kitterman has a MA from Gallaudet University and has taught ASL at the high school and college level for 16 years.

Basketball Skills Academy (Ages 10-12)

Young athletes will take their basketball game to the next level with Valour Nation. Athletes will practice offensive skills and concepts such as shooting, passing, ball handling and much more. Small-sided games will be incorporated to teach key offensive concepts like the pick and roll, spacing and decision-making that will improve their basketball I.Q. Each skills academy session includes a character lesson to develop a champion's mindset. Although this course is not a league and uniforms will not be distributed, young athletes will learn basketball fundamentals and character development to be successful on and off the court. Athletes should bring a basketball and personal water bottle to each class.

Breakdancing (Ages 5-14)

Breakdancing is the most athletic and acrobatic branch of hip-hop dance. Split into two age groups, young dancers will learn the value of hard work, determination, commitment and repetition through positive reinforcement and fun filled challenges. Classes will incorporate a fun, safe and efficient pathway to learning breakdancing starting with basic hip hop dance moves then transition to more challenging breakdancing concepts under the direction of Onsite Youth Training instructors. Young dancers will walk away with a video highlight reel that displays their newly acquired skills. Students should wear comfortable clothing, tennis shoes and bring a water bottle to each class.

Creative Cooking - Hide the Veggies (Ages 6+)

Parents and grandparents, grab your young chefs for a taste bud, hands-on adventure! Join Kit Myers in the kitchen as she shares her family’s favorite recipes: Kit’s Queso, Meghan’s Sassy Spaghetti, Sneaky Sloppy Joes and more. These tried and true dishes rely on easy tips and tricks while teasing your taste buds into enjoying veggies. Put on your apron and bring your camera to capture the fun. The best family memories are created in the kitchen! A $10 food fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. Registration fee covers one adult and one child.

Expressive Movement for Toddlers (Ages 2-3)

Toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring expressive and artistic movements in this introductory dance class. Curriculum includes a combination of pre-ballet basic dance movements using visual arts, props and story-telling dance themes along with entertaining and inspiring children’s dance music. Ballet shoes are required for this class. Girls may wear a black leotard, pink tights and hair up in a neat bun. Boys may wear a white t-shirt and black dance shorts. Family Fairy Gardening (Ages 5-12)

Grownups grab your little ones (ages 5-12) and bring them to an afternoon of fairy gardening! Adults and kids alike will have fun choosing their container, picking their plants and fairies and customizing their fairy gardens by using their imagination. Bring your own container (10x10x4 is best) or purchase one from the instructor and come prepared to get a little dirty! A $30 supply fee, payable to the instructor at the beginning of class, covers all materials for your fairy garden. Registration and supply fee are for one fairy garden. Marianne Rodriguez owns Whimsical Fairy Gardens and has been gardening for over 20 years.

Kids and K9s (Ages 6-12)

Do you want your child to take more responsibility with your pet? Trainer Linda Weniger has a solution! During this pet workshop, your child will learn how to teach your pup basic commands like 'sit' and 'down,' as well as learn how to take them for a walk. They will even learn basic tricks like shake, beg, crawl, dance and roll over. Lastly, your kiddo will learn the importance of grooming, pet care, dog safety and responsibility. One registration includes one parent, one child between the ages of 6 and 12 and one dog. Child must be able to hold the dog on a leash and the dog must be potty trained. SAT Seminar (Grades 9-11)

SimplySoccerSA offers young athletes the chance to learn fundamental skills and terminology of the great game of soccer. Each week will consist of learning a new skill or two to include dribbling, passing, shooting and control. We will end each class practicing learned skills in a game like setting. At SimplySoccerSA we also focus on character, teamwork, leadership and helping others which young athletes can take beyond the soccer field. All participants will be required to wear tennis shoes (no sandals/flip-flops/heeled shoes or boots will be allowed to play for safety reasons). Students should wear shin guards as well as bring a personal water bottle to each class. Water for breaks and all equipment such as soccer balls, cones and goals will be provided. Training will take place in an air-conditioned gym.

Snapology presents a robotics workshop inspired by Star Wars® and space travel! Young engineers will discover the importance of sensors, motors and robotics while building and programming functional LEGO® brick robots. Students will make their creations come to life using the engineering design process, iPads® and the LEGO® WeDo™ 2.0 programming platform.
