ALIR - Epic Saga of the Normans: A People Above the Norm

This class introduces the most famous Norman, William the Conqueror, as well as his ancestors the Vikings, and explores one of history's most world-changing events: the conquest of England and the subsequent melding of two languages, Anglo-Saxon and Norman French. The instructor's distinctive cultural-linguistic approach will expand and deepen a short Great Courses® segment. Class participation will be strongly encouraged.
