Language & Communication - Beginning French (old2)

An introductory course that focuses on understanding and speaking French. This course emphasizes the acquisition of “survival French” - being able to ask for and understand directions to various places, how to ask for and understand how much something costs, how to order food in a restaurant, being able to obtain phone numbers and travel information and other basic phrases that would be useful when traveling to a French speaking country. Français Interactif, a free, open access web site, will be used for vocabulary and various activities. Students will be expected to download and/or print chapters before each class. Instructor Jessica McConnell has a bachelor’s degree in French from Western Michigan University and is currently a NEISD French teacher.
