The Indian Food Diaries: Taste the Tamarind
In this session of The Indian Food Diaries, you will explore the complexity of the tropical fruit, Tamarind. You will practice extracting juices and learn about the types of dishes you can create with it. Explore the tastes of India in this hands-on class where you will experiment with tamarind by adding it to various chutneys, make a tamarind spice powder and prepare a mild tamarind sauce dish with lentils and spices. Instructor, Raji Kailasam, native of Chennai, India, has been teaching in San Antonio for two years. Bring a to-go container, cutting board, apron, hand towel, knives and a $10 supply fee, which is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class.
