Acoustic & Electric Guitar for Youth (Ages 6-17)

Does your child want to learn how to play the guitar? In this group class they will learn how to play the guitar the smart way. Young musicians will learn chords and easy music theory to better understand how a song works. The possibilities are endless when music is understood at a fundamental level. Students should bring a guitar and their desire to learn and they’ll be playing songs in just a few weeks. Instruction provided by Giovani Reyes of StringTheory6 LLC.

Dribble, pass, shoot, score with TX Youth Sports! Young athletes will learn to love basketball while improving their skills and abilities. Defense, dribbling, passing, catching, pivoting, finishing moves, shooting, spacing and more will be covered. Every session will have competitive drills and scrimmages. Students should bring a basketball and personal water bottle to each class.

Dancing through the Decades (Ages 7-12)

Is the Running Man your child’s jam? Is disco their groove? No matter what beat moves your child’s feet, this class will get them out on the dance floor. Onsite Youth Training will take young dancers through the decades as they learn a variety of moves and dances from the 1920's to the 2000's. Dancers should bring a water bottle to class and wear comfortable shoes and clothing for a fun and fast paced dance party through the ages.

Expressive Movement for Toddlers (Ages 2 ½ -3 ½)

Toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring expressive and artistic movements in this introductory dance class. Curriculum includes a combination of pre-ballet basic dance movements using visual arts, props and story-telling dance themes along with entertaining and inspiring children’s dance music. Ballet shoes are required for this class. Girls may wear a black leotard, pink tights and hair up in a neat bun. Boys may wear a white t-shirt and black dance shorts. Festive Cookie Decorating 101 (Ages 7-12)

Want to combine your child’s love of art and sweets? Creative pastry designer Amy Roussin, owner of Little Muse Catering and Cakes presents a fun cookie decorating class where your child will learn different layering and decorating techniques. Your child will bring in the fall season with some icing and baked goods as they frost their way through decorating various seasonal treats. A supply fee of $10 is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class and includes a take-home container, cookies, icing and decorating tools. Movin' & Groovin' Dance Class Medley (Ages 3-5)

Your young dancer will move and groove as they learn a variety of dance skills, exercises, activities, rhythm and creative movements. Cynergy Dance Savvy Artistry's trained instructors will highlight dance skills for each of the selected genres to include: Sing Along and Dance Musical Theatre; Ballet Basics with Creative Movement; Jazz Basics with a Twist; Hip Hop and Tumble Dance; Playful Prop Dances; and Terrific Toe Tapping and Hand Clapping Basics. PSAT/SAT Seminar (Grades 9-11)

Doorway to College Foundation presents a five-hour seminar which will allow students to become more familiar with the PSAT/SAT while providing an opportunity to improve their scores. What does Finding Nemo and Pixar have to do with writing a good college essay? In this class, students will learn what colleges are looking for and how to master the art of storytelling. Kendra Thomas, a former Head of College and Career Counseling, presents tips and techniques to writing a college essay that will be sure to leave an impression on their applications. This class would be most beneficial for students enrolled in 9th through 11th grades.

College application season is right around the corner! Are your kids prepared? This course is designed to walk students through the college application process from beginning to end, providing insights into the best way to present themselves to potential universities. Younger students will leave this class with a better understanding of how they can use their high school years to maximize their college options. Older students will learn how to present their best selves to potential schools. This class would be most beneficial for students enrolled in 8th through 11th grades. Students should bring a binder and pencil for activities. Instruction provided by Kendra Thomas, a former Head of College and Career Counseling.

Dancing with your little one is a great way to fit in exercise, build relationships and help aid their physical and mental development. Join Onsite Youth Training in this fast-paced Hip-Hop class, where you can show off your old-school moves and your child can help teach you the latest dance craze. Created by Zumba® and BabyFirst™, Zumbini® combines music, dance and educational tools for 45 minutes of can’t-stop, won’t-stop bonding, learning and fun for children ages 0-4 with their caregiver! Come sing, dance and play instruments with your little one and certified Zumbini® instructor Sara Hersh.
