Acoustic & Electric Guitar for Youth (Ages 6-17)

Does your child want to learn how to play the guitar? In this group class they will learn how to play the guitar the smart way. Young musicians will learn chords and easy music theory to better understand how a song works. The possibilities are endless when music is understood at a fundamental level. Students should bring a guitar and their desire to learn and they’ll be playing songs in just a few weeks. Instruction provided by Giovani Reyes of StringTheory6 LLC.

Arabic Language and Culture Workshop (Ages 5-14)

Is your child curious about the Arabic language? Then this workshop is for them! Broken up into age appropriate activities, students will learn to speak some basic Arabic and learn about culture to include greetings, how to talk about family and essential travel phrases. Younger students will learn through games and songs. Older students will be introduced to the Arabic alphabet and produce calligraphy. Portions of the class is taught in Arabic immersion. Art Starz: Canvas Kids (Ages 6+)

Young artists will have a blast painting animals, still life and landscapes using a step-by-step method. Art Starz instructors will cover basic color theory and fun techniques that can be used to produce magnificent paintings every time. Your young artist will paint at least one large painting on canvas and one mini canvas with an easel as well as various sizes in between. Does your child have a knack for doodling? Experienced Art Starz instructors will guide young cartoonists in creating a variety of drawings as well as their own original characters. Students will produce a three-panel comic strip and learn to incorporate word bubbles, inking and other elements of interest. Various types of hand-drawn animation including flipbooks and an animation wheel will also be created. Learning continues with tricks of famous cartoonists, optical illusions and an explanation on how cartoon movies work. A $20 supply fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Calling all artists! Step right up and enter the art studio where you will be inspired by the movie “Night At The Museum.” The fun begins as we laugh and remember the movie's fun-loving characters such as Dexter the monkey, Rexy the T-Rex and many more. Young artists will have the opportunity to recreate their favorite characters as well as Egyptian treasures, tiny armies or Romans and cowboys or fire hungry caveman. Athletic Movement and Development (Ages 6-12)

Uplifted Performance and Fitness offers students the chance to enhance fundamental athletic skills plus body and movement development in a fun, challenging and interactive environment. Each day will consist of learning a new skill or two with increasing challenges in agility ladders, hurdles, cones and medicine balls that will develop both their motor-learning skills and confidence. We will also focus on a positive attitude, teamwork, leadership and helping others which young athletes can take with them beyond the training and into everyday life. All participants will be required to wear athletic shoes (no sandals/flip-flops/heeled shoes or boots will be allowed to play for safety reasons). Students should bring a personal water bottle to class each. All fitness equipment will be provided.

Basketball Skills Academy (Ages 7-12)

Young athletes will take their basketball game to the next level with Valour Nation. Athletes will practice offensive skills and concepts such as shooting, passing, ball handling and much more. Small-sided games will be incorporated to teach key offensive concepts like the pick and roll, spacing and decision-making that will improve their basketball I.Q. Each skills academy session includes a character lesson to develop a champion's mindset. Although this weeklong course is not a league, and uniforms will not be distributed, young athletes will learn basketball fundamentals and character development to be successful on and off the court. Inside the SAT (Ages 15-17)

Experience shows that students who take this workshop achieve an average score increase of 5 to 20 points on the PSAT, and 50 to 200 points on the SAT. Of course, the individual score increase depends on the amount of time and effort that students spend working with the materials they will receive in the class. Explore the world of science! Young scientists will discover space travel as they prep their “egg-stronaut” for flight. Students will problem solve ways to build a flying orbiter and design a crash test helmet to protect their “egg-celent” partner. Additional science explorations include; using the rays of the sun to change the color of beads and to turn a shadow into a picture; figuring out the trick of tight ropes with the help of a balancing friend; and sending friends secret messages using chemical reactions. Calling all ninjas! Join Onsite Youth Training as they turn your child into an urban Ninja. By changing how students view simple objects, students will use the art forms of parkour, tumbling and martial arts to overcome obstacles as swiftly and efficiently as possible using only their bodies. At any level of experience, our class offers a full body workout, improves one’s ability to move, increases confidence and changes how one sees the world. Our Ninja Training class improves strength, speed, agility, coordination, stamina, endurance and precision. Students should come dressed with closed toe shoes and bring a water bottle to each class. SimplySoccerSA offers young athletes the chance to learn fundamental skills and terminology of the great game of soccer. TGA Premier Golf - Swing into Summer! (Ages 6-12)

Give your child a foundation to build on for life! Developed by education experts, PGA and LPGA professionals, this program focuses on instilling a passion for golf, developing skills, having fun and building confidence. After this weeklong session, young golfers should have a strong understanding of proper ball striking, course etiquette and have confidence to transition newly acquired skills to the golf course. Uke Can Do It! (Ages 10-14)

Young musicians will learn the basic chords to play and sing songs on their ukulele. In addition to a fun variety of strum patterns to accompany popular songs chosen by the students, they will learn to read music on the treble clef, play a C-scale and tune their ukulele. During the last class, from 12:00-12:30 PM, students will perform the songs they learned throughout the week and parents are welcome to attend.
