Acoustic & Electric Guitar for Youth (Ages 6-17)

Does your child want to learn how to play the guitar? In this group class they will learn how to play the guitar the smart way. Young musicians will learn chords and easy music theory to better understand how a song works. The possibilities are endless when music is understood at a fundamental level. Students should bring a guitar and their desire to learn and they’ll be playing songs in just a few weeks. Instruction provided by Giovani Reyes of StringTheory6 LLC. The instructor may divide the class into age groups if enrollment exceeds 15 students.

Athletic Strength & Conditioning Program (Ages 11-15)

This class is tailored to fit students from all levels of experience across all sports to improve and optimize their athleticism through speed, strength and agility all while promoting injury-reduction. Uplifted Performance and Fitness trainers progressively level up intensity based on each student’s readiness. Areas of focus include resistance-training, technical speed training, mobility/stability/flexibility modalities, physical therapy concepts (injury reduction), character building and more. Athletes train with qualified, experienced staff. Students are required to wear athletic shoes and socks and bring a water bottle to each class.

Basketball Skills Academy (Ages 5-10, Beginner)

Valour Nation introduces young athletes to basketball skills and fundamentals that are suited to their experience level. The beginner course is ideal for students who are new to the game of basketball. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of shooting, passing, dribbling, foundational footwork for lay ups, and proper shooting form. Students in the beginner course will focus on developing foundational footwork and skills to prepare them for the intermediate level class. Athletes should bring a basketball and personal water bottle to each class.

Basketball Skills Academy (Ages 9-14, Advanced)

Valour Nation introduces young athletes to basketball skills and fundamentals that are suited to their experience level. Students registered in the advance course should have at least two years of competitive basketball experience to include club and/or middle school basketball team play. Students should be able to dribble and maintain control of the ball at full speed, perform change of direction moves while running, execute and make lay ups, execute proper shooting form, understand and recognize passing windows and finish either hand around the basket. Ability and prior knowledge in how to execute in two-on-one situations and foundational footwork out of a triple threat position (open steps, cross steps, jab steps) is recommended. Advanced students will develop their lay-up package to include up and under finishes, reverse lay ups, Euro step finishes and more. The advanced class will use small-sided games to develop positive play habits and teach students to handle the ball with defenders in their bubble, beat pressure defense, attacking double teams, score from different spots on the floor, score with contact and more. Athletes should bring a basketball and personal water bottle to each class.

Basketball Skills Academy (Ages 9-14, Intermediate)

Valour Nation introduces young athletes to basketball skills and fundamentals that are suited to their experience level. The intermediate course is for students with some basketball experience and has obtained a foundational basketball skill set to include the ability to dribble and maintain control of the ball while running, ability to execute proper footwork on lay ups, understanding basic passing principles and proper shooting form. Prior knowledge of the basic rules of basketball (ex: traveling, double dribble, etc.) is also recommended. Intermediate students can expect to learn fundamentals such as developing advanced change of direction moves, offensive attack moves and learn different ways to create separation from defenders. Students will learn how to recognize passing windows and will practice different finishes around the basket to include inside and outside hand finishes, extended lay ups and more. In addition, the intermediate course will introduce small-sided games to teach proper offensive spacing, reading screens, two-on-one scenarios and more. Athletes should bring a basketball and personal water bottle to each class.

Cake Pop Workshop (Ages 8-13)

Young bakers will have a blast creating their own "egg-cellent" cake pops with Over the Top Cake Supplies. Using chocolate, melting pots and edible decorations, students will transform a pre-baked cake into beautiful creations! Young bakers will complete 4-6 edible creations that will be sent home in individually labeled containers for family and friends to enjoy. Students only need to bring their imagination and eagerness to learn! Registration for this class closes at noon on Thursday, April 2 to ensure that supply trays are available for all decorators. All supplies are included.

Chinese, Beginning (Ages 7-12)

The Spring Festival and the Dragon Boat Festival will come to life as instructor Feng'e Liu, native of China, presents the Chinese culture and language in a simple, yet applicable way. Geared towards students who are new to learning Chinese, students will learn how to listen, speak, read and write basic Chinese to include numbers, the alphabet, shapes, colors, animals, simple conversational phrases and more. Classes will gradually reach full immersion for an enhanced experience. Students should bring a notebook, a pencil and an eagerness to learn to each class.

Cupcake Decorating 101 (Ages 8-13)

Young bakers will decorate like the pros using buttercream and fondant to create six cupcakes inspired by the spring season. Over the Top Cake Supplies will provide cupcakes, all decorating supplies and containers for students to take home completed creations. Students only need to bring their imagination! Registration for this class closes at noon on Thursday, March 26 to ensure that supply trays and cupcakes are available for all decorators.

Students should bring an iPad® (iOS 11.1 or newer) with the Procreate® software ($10 in the App Store) installed and a digital writing utensil (Apple Pencil or stylus) to each class.

Expressive Movement for Toddlers (Ages 2-3)

Toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring expressive and artistic movements in this introductory dance class. Curriculum includes a combination of pre-ballet basic dance movements using visual arts, props and story-telling dance themes along with entertaining and inspiring children’s dance music. Ballet shoes are required for this class. Girls may wear a black leotard, pink tights and hair up in a neat bun. Boys may wear a white t-shirt and black dance shorts. Family Fairy Gardening (Ages 5-12)

Grownups grab your little ones and bring them to an afternoon of fairy gardening! Adults and kids alike will have fun choosing their container, picking their plants and fairies and customizing their fairy gardens by using their imagination. Bring your own container (10x10x4 is best) or purchase one from the instructor and come prepared to get a little dirty! A $30 supply fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class and covers all materials for your fairy garden. Registration and supply fee are for one fairy garden.
