A Very Minecraft® Christmas (Ages 8-14)

Calling all Minecraft® enthusiasts! Build Santa’s workshop inside the amazing world of Minecraft®. Students will learn about engineering, problem solving and basic coding as they program Santa’s elves (turtle robots) to harvest resources, build basic structures and more! They will also harness the power of redstone (in-game electricity) to build Christmas themed decorations and contraptions. Your kids will think they’re playing a game, but you know better! Instruction provided by Bits, Bytes & Bots of San Antonio. New curricula will be introduced from fall 2018.

Acoustic & Electric Guitar for Youth (Ages 6-17)

Does your child want to learn how to play the guitar? In this group class they will learn how to play the guitar the smart way. Young musicians will learn chords and easy music theory to better understand how a song works. The possibilities are endless when music is understood at a fundamental level. Students should bring a guitar and their desire to learn and they’ll be playing songs in just a few weeks. Instruction provided by Giovani Reyes of StringTheory6 LLC. Class may be divided into age groups if enrollment exceeds 15 students.

Arabic Language and Culture Workshop (Ages 4-8)

Culturingua will spark your child’s curiosity about the Arabic language and Arab culture in this weekend workshop. Younger students, ages 4-8, will learn how to speak about shapes and colors and then create geometric tessellation artwork. Older students, ages 9-14, will learn how to shop for clothing in a traditional souq or marketplace and then will wear traditional Arab clothing while having conversations with peers in Arabic. The two age groups will be held in separate classrooms and instruction is taught according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages guidelines. A majority of the class is taught in Arabic immersion. No previous knowledge of Arabic is required.

For the Love of Drums presents young musicians with an opportunity to learn about different percussion instruments from around the world. Students will learn about the djembe, bongos, shakers, rhythm sticks, cajons and more. An interactive music jam session will provide an in-depth, hands-on experience. All equipment and instruments will be provided.

Uplifted Performance and Fitness offers students the chance to enhance fundamental athletic skills through development of speed and strength. Age-appropriate challenge activities are facilitated using agility ladders, hurdles, cones and medicine balls that will increase agility and power and help them excel in organized sports or other physical activities. Instructors will focus on a positive attitude, teamwork, leadership and helping others which young athletes can take with them beyond the training and into the home, classroom, playground and team sports settings. All participants will be required to wear athletic shoes (no sandals/flip-flops/heeled shoes or boots will be allowed to play for safety reasons). Students should bring a personal water bottle to class each. All fitness equipment will be provided.

Basic Training Baking Boot Camp (Ages 5-12)

Calling all aspiring bakers who love to get their hands dirty in the kitchen! Young bakers will join Sticky Fingers Cooking for some "cool"inary fun where they will learn the basics of baking both sweet and savory creations including Sticky Toffee Date Muffins, Quick Salted Caramel, Lime-Melon Fresca, Awesome Argentinian Corn Empanadas and more! This is a hands-on culinary adventure they won't want to miss. Young bakers will love to create (and eat!) while learning safe cooking skills, math, food culture, science, geography and more! While we will bake using our portable cooking tools in class, all recipes can be recreated at home in your oven for more baking fun. Sticky Fingers Cooking is 100% nut free. We can and will accommodate any and all food allergies! All supplies are included.

Join family tree specialist Mariano Salazar as you and your child learn the basics of building your family tree utilizing free websites to search for loved ones. Mariano will show you and your child how to put your family tree onto a poster or into a book format so that you can complete your tree at home with detail and accuracy. Expressive Movement for Toddlers (Ages 2-3)

Toddlers and pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring expressive and artistic movements in this introductory dance class. Curriculum includes a combination of pre-ballet basic dance movements using visual arts, props and story-telling dance themes along with entertaining and inspiring children’s dance music. Ballet shoes are required for this class. Girls may wear a black leotard, pink tights and hair up in a neat bun. Boys may wear a white t-shirt and black dance shorts. Family Fairy Gardening (Ages 5-12)

Grownups grab your little ones and bring them to an afternoon of fairy gardening! Adults and kids alike will have fun choosing their container, picking their plants and fairies and customizing their fairy gardens by using their imagination. Bring your own container (10x10x4 is best) or purchase one from the instructor and come prepared to get a little dirty! A $30 supply fee is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class and covers all materials for your fairy garden. Registration and supply fee are for one fairy garden. Finance Education (Ages 16+)

This course is geared towards preparing students for the challenges and opportunities they will be presented with as college students and young adults. Students will be taught to understand the basics of financial literacy including credit, credit scores, credit cards and monthly budgeting. Instructor Joshua Sigman has a Bachelors in Finance and Economics and has been in the finance industry for over 13 years. Parents may register separately to attend with their student.

French through the Story of Cinderella (Ages 7-11)

Students will learn to speak French as they practice interacting with peers in everyday contexts under the guidance of Culturingua instructors. Taking on the role of Cinderella, the Prince, and other characters, students will practice French vocabulary in settings such as performing chores, buying groceries, trying on clothes and interacting with friends and family. The class will culminate with a final performance for parents. This class is taught according to the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages guidelines, and a majority of the class time is taught in French. No previous knowledge of French is required.

Enjoy quality time with your youngster as you create a gingerbread house from scratch. Guided by Kit Myers and her experienced gingerbread angels, you'll tell your own family story in gingerbread. This 90 minute instructional workshop includes step-by-step guidance, from assembly to decorating and even landscaping. Kit has done all the planning, baking and shopping so you can focus on creating memories with your family. All materials are included, just bring your imagination! Introduction to Drums and Percussion (Ages 7-12)

Young musicians will jam out as they learn basic rock and jazz beats on a drum set. For the Love of Drums teaches rudiments to help students learn patterns to play cool beats on drums. Basic notation on how to read music for drums will be covered as young musicians learn a few rock and jazz songs. SAT Seminar (Grades 9-11)
