ALIR - The 1936 Texas Centennial: Creating Texas Identity

The 1936 Texas Centennial was an elaborate state-wide celebration commemorated by more than 1300 objects - monuments, statues, 700+ historical and grave markers, 250 country highway markers as well as dedicated museum and exposition items. Many were lost or neglected, so in 2008 a group led by instructor Sarah Reveley spent 5 years locating and documenting all of them. Join her as she traces the discoveries of this "monumental" effort. (you can review her website/Facebook page "The Neglected Texas Centennial" for additional details).
