Women in Aviation: Pioneers in Flight to Explorers in Space
Since the Wright Brothers took flight in 1903, women have made significant contributions to aviation. Look beyond Amelia to the WASPs, whose secret WW2 missions kept planes flying; to san Antonio's Stinson sisters; Bessie Coleman, the first African-American woman to earn a pilot's license; from Harriet Quimby's rickety plane to Sally Ride's space shuttle. We will conclude the class with a trip to Stinson Field's Texas Air Museum.
