Language & Communication - Editing Your Creative Writing for Publication

Those who write fiction, non-fiction and poetry will learn how to edit their manuscripts to improve their chances of publication. Participants will learn editing techniques, symbols and resources to improve the content, organization and mechanics of their manuscripts. They will do editing exercises and peer edit excerpts from their manuscripts or their query letters to editors. Upon completion of registration, participants will be contacted with instructions for submitting up to five double-spaced typed pages of a manuscript in progress to be edited by the class. Jan Kilby, Ph.D. is a college writing professor, a freelance writer with 203 publications, as well as a writing consultant.
