ALIR - Books vs Movies, Part 3: "Two for Tea with Tey"

This term we will begin by reading "A Shilling for Candles", a suspenseful 1930s story by the British Novelist Josephine Tey, and then contrast it with Alfred Hitchcock's film adaptation. Next, the class will study Tey's mysterious "Brat Farrar", also based in England but set a decade later, and contrast it with its very unusual film adaptation. Tey's works can be purchased online, and students are asked to read the first story before class begins.
