Experts detail the 1500-year history of the English Language in this video series ("Athena"), which will serve as a springboard for class discussions. These authorities, along with our own linguistic-expert instructor, will show how diverse forces - from Beowulf to the Bible, from Shakespeare to American slang - shaped our modern language.
