Barbara Kingsolver's fifth novel has been called "a hymn to wildness that celebrates the prodigal spirit of human nature and nature itself". Amid the mountains and farms of Appalachia, the three strands of characters crisscross each other and ultimately merge; the novel's chapters are entitled "Predators", "Moth Love" and "Old Chestnuts". The book is available at the library or wherever you buy books; the instructor will be using the 2000 Harper Collins edition.
