Online Complete Chess (Grades 2-5)

Beginner to intermediate students will learn how to become a chess master! Students will learn strategies and piece placement through virtual puzzles as well as the history of chess and where the game is headed. Quizzes, strategic chess tactics, live competitions, and tournaments through Lichess.org provide an interactive space for students to learn and grow in their chess abilities with Complete Chess. Chess is a great game that has many positive benefits to include critical thinking skills, mathematics, spatial memory, planning, strategic thinking, and more. This is a distance learning class. Instructions for logging into Zoom will be emailed by the instructor before the first class meeting.

Online Drama Kids International (Grades K-2)

Drama Kids International prepares children to speak up clearly with confidence through fun drama activities right in your home. Activities include speech, creative movement, structured improvisations, dialogue development, and mini-scripts. No wallflowers! No background characters! Everyone is a star and enthusiastic participation is encouraged. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Instructions for logging into Zoom will be emailed by the instructor before the first class meeting.

Online Kids in Motion Hip Hop (Grades 3-5)

Get your child active and grooving to age-appropriate music and fun dance challenges. Our Hip-Hop class is designed to encourage your dancer to have fun, express themselves, and stay healthy through music and dance. Students will learn the newest dance moves, as well as some old-school favorites with Onsite Youth Training instructors! Students should wear comfortable clothes and have a water bottle available for each class. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Instructions for logging into Zoom will be emailed by the instructor before the first class meeting. Tutorial videos will be emailed after class for students to practice at their leisure.

Online Snapology: Virtual Escape Rooms (Grades 2-5)

Using breakout rooms to divide students into small teams, students complete assigned tasks to unlock the secrets of Escape Snapology! Discovering clues, solving puzzles, answering riddles, and decoding secret messages will challenge students' STEM skills as they problem-solve their way through escape games. The team that escapes the fastest is given ultimate bragging rights until their record is crushed by a new team! Minimal supplies such as pencil, paper, and calculator may be requested to complete puzzles. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Instructions for logging into Zoom will be emailed by the instructor before the first class meeting.

Art Starz Drawing Lab - Online (Grades 1-5)

Kids will have a blast drawing along with My Art Starz in six weeks of creative fun! Each week we will provide a link that will take you directly to our weekly lesson. You will be able to view the lesson at your convenience and your child can follow along any time during the day or evening. The lessons are designed for pencil and paper which you should have at home. There will be add-ons/options for extra materials such as colored markers. If you do not have the add on materials, no worries. Kids will be able to complete each lesson with nothing more than a pencil and paper. Young artists will have fun with our warm-up cartoon drawing. Then we will progress to a step-by-step drawing lesson where they will learn to draw animals, how to draw in 3D, the basics of shading, and more. We hope you will join us for some drawing fun! This is a distance learning class. Instructions for accessing video lessons and will be emailed prior to the first class.

Ballet (Grades K-5)

Following the American Ballet Theatre Curriculum, students will engage in learning the etiquette and ritual of basic ballet technique, simple steps, and jump combinations to strengthen coordination and creativity. Required dance attire for girls includes a black leotard, pink tights, and ballet shoes. The required dance attire for boys includes a white tee-shirt, black shorts, white socks and black ballet shoes.

Mad Science: Secret Agent Lab (Grades K-5)

Young scientists will encounter the science of secret agents in a fun, hands-on environment. Join Mad Science for an amazing session with a new topic each week! The topics for Secret Agent Lab will include: Discover Detection, Agent Undercover, Sleuths on the Scene, Whodunit, Crime Lab, and Sneaky Science to give your junior agent a total of 6 weeks of fun! Young scientists will learn all about analyzing evidence, forensics, chemistry, investigative science, the secrets of spies and more! Young scientists will have the opportunity to continue exploring at home with their own take-home projects after each lesson.

Online Art Starz (Grades 1-5)

Calling all artists! Under the guidance of My Art Starz, young artists will explore various drawing, watercolor, and acrylic on canvas painting techniques through step-by-step weekly lessons. Students will have a blast adding their own personal touch and unique style to their artworks as they draw and paint things like animals, landscapes, still life, and more. This is a distance learning class where students have the ability to access each guided video lesson at their leisure. Instructions for accessing video lessons will be emailed prior to the first class. In addition, a live show-and-tell each week will allow students to show their work and ask questions. Show-and-tell will take place on Fridays from 3:30 - 4:00 PM.

Online Bits, Bytes & Bots: 2D Video Game Creation (Grades 4-8)

Sneaky learning at its best! Capitalize on your kids’ love for video games by letting them build their own. Their imagination is the limit as they create multiple and unique video games to enjoy forever. Our students have made hundreds and hundreds of video games - no two looks alike! Students will learn the basics of game design by creating multiple games in this distance learning class. This class is more advanced than 3D Video Game Making and emphasizes programming, problem-solving, and following directions. Students should download the FREE version of the software directly from the developers (https://www.clickteam.com/clickteam-fusion-2-5) prior to class. Technology requirements include one computer to build the games. Visit the website for specific computer requirements. (A Chromebook will not work since you can’t install software on it.) This is a distance learning class where students will have the ability to access each guided video lesson at their leisure. The first lesson will be released on Monday, January 25. Online Bits, Bytes & Bots: 3D Video Game Making (Grades 3-6)

Has your child ever wanted to build their own 3D Video Game? Here's their chance! Microsoft’s Kodu is a visual programming language, similar to scratch but more advanced, that will have your child master the art of conditional formatting. Students will learn the basics of 3D game design by creating multiple games in this distance learning class. Students will create power-ups to stun their opponents, create unique one and two-player games, master sound effects and more! This course emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability. Students should download the software directly from Microsoft (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10056) prior to class. Technology requirements include access to one computer (not Apple or Chromebook) to build the games. This is a distance learning class where students will have the ability to access each guided video lesson at their leisure. The first lesson will be released on Monday, January 25. Instructions for accessing video lessons and chats will be emailed by the instructor.

Online Crayola® Artist’s Passport (Grades K-5)

Young artists will embark on an around-the-world cultural adventure as they explore far-off places and learn about the people who live there! From the Americas to Polynesia and from the cosmopolitan to the countryside, there is plenty to explore. Under the guidance of Imagine Arts Academy™ of Austin and San Antonio instructors, students will experiment with Crayola® products, while trying art techniques developed by local artists and artisans. Young artists will make different masterpieces each week such as drums, masks, canvases, gift bags, buses, and more to display in an at-home, globally inspired, personal art gallery. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Instructions for logging into Zoom will be emailed by the instructor prior to the first class meeting. Tuition includes delivery of hands-on supplies to the student’s home.

Online Snapology: Superhero Labs (Grades 1-5)

Did you know some superheroes were created in a lab? Join Snapology online in an instructor-led, fun and interactive superhero adventure! Students will create their own superheroes, battle villains head to head, build traps and of course epic hideouts. Using LEGO® bricks found at home, students will complete daily challenges, explore their creativity, problem solve and share their creations with other students online. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Instructions for logging into Zoom will be emailed by the instructor prior to the first class meeting.

Online Sticky Fingers Cooking (Grades 1-5)

Join us for our “Virtual Kids in the Kitchen Series” right in your own home featuring unique cooking curriculums! “MUG-nificent After School Sweets and Snack Classes” highlight single-serve recipes with the use of the microwave to help foster more independence and safety in the kitchen for our students. “Meal THYME Sheet Pan Cooking Classes” feature recipes geared towards family meals in mind! Students will prepare a full meal for their families from start to finish in our class. With help from an adult at home, just pop the sheet pan in the oven after class, and your family’s meal will be ready in 30-40 minutes! We provide all of the personal instruction, with the same Sticky Fingers Chef Instructor for each class, as they create healthy and hearty after school snacks or family meals each week. Each class provides education, feedback, problem-solving and activities all in a fun interactive cooking experience. A comprehensive family recipe, shopping lists, food allergy guide, fun family activities and access to some fun videos are also included with each class session! A grocery list will be sent a week in advance for parents to purchase ingredients for the class. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Piano, Level 1 - Online (Ages 10-17)

Students will receive a basic introduction to the theory, performance, and comprehension of music using a keyboard in a group setting. Instructor, Floyd Dixon II was classically trained on piano and violin and has over eight years of music experience in the San Antonio area. Learning material to include sheet music and piano stickers will be provided. This is a distance learning class held through Zoom. Instructions for logging into Zoom as well as class policies and learning objectives will be emailed by the instructor before the first class meeting. Snapology: Creature Creator Robotics (Grades 1-5)

In Snapology's Creature Creator Robotics class, your animal lover will create their own animal-inspired robotic models. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build insects, dolphins, gorillas, dinosaurs and much more. Students are sure to have a wild time as they build, learn, and play while practicing teamwork and problem solving under the guidance of Snapology instructors. Students will even make their animal robots come alive using a drag and drop programming format on iPads® and WeDo® 2.0 robotics equipment provided by Snapology.

Sticky Fingers Cooking (Grades 1-5)

Let your children release their inner MasterChef! We’re whipping up fresh and tasty recipes this season by focusing on FUN-da-mentals, Kitchen Tools PhD, and COOL-inary Confidence. Our professional chef instructors provide safe, engaging, hands-on learning, but it’s your chefs who prep and cook! Our classes are a BLAST for all ages and recipes are never repeated throughout the school year! When kids get to touch the ingredients and create their own recipes, they’re much more willing to try new foods. We provide the tools, ingredients, and instruction needed to cook up a delicious, healthy, and hearty after-school snack each week. Our online recipe collection is also included for family cooking at home! Sticky Fingers Cooking is 100% nut-free. We can and will accommodate any and all food allergies.

TGA Premier Jr. Golf (Grades K-5)

Developed by education experts, PGA and LPGA professionals, this program focuses on instilling a passion for golf, developing skills, having fun and building confidence. All equipment will be provided. Maximum student-to-teacher ratio is 8:1. Instruction provided by TGA North San Antonio.
