Art Starz (Grades 1-5)

Join us for some creative FUN as we explore drawing, painting and clay sculpture. Students are taught by a professional artist and will learn basic art principles such as composition, color theory and critical thinking skills. They will paint in watercolor and acrylics; draw with pencils and soft pastels; create and paint a clay sculpture! All supplies are of professional quality. A supply fee of $35 can be paid to My Art Starz by calling 210-945-4411, bringing payment the first day of class or by paying online at www.myartstarz.com. Tuition of $179.00 to be paid separately to NEISD Community Ed.

Athletic Movement & Development (Grades K-5)

Uplifted Performance and Fitness offers students the chance to enhance fundamental athletic skills plus body and movement development in a fun, interactive environment. Each week will consist of learning a new skill or two with increasing challenges in agility ladders, hurdles, cones and medicine balls that will develop both physical-cardio-vascular health and confidence. We will end each class practicing and drilling the learned skills that will help students transition into other sports. At Uplifted Performance and Fitness we also focus on a positive attitude, teamwork, leadership and helping others which young athletes can take with them beyond the training and into the home, classroom, playground and team sports settings. All participants will be required to wear athletic shoes (no sandals/flip-flops/heeled shoes or boots will be allowed to play for safety reasons). Students should bring a personal water bottle to class each. All fitness equipment will be provided.

B3 STEM: Gears, Gadgets & Gizmos (Grades K-2)

Students will explore simple machines while solving engineering problems for our LEGO® siblings, Sam and Sara. Each week will hold a new adventure for Sam and Sara with numerous challenges! Students will learn to use the engineering design process to get to a solution that works. By playing with and manipulating the models, students will explore pulleys, levers, gears, wheels and axles all while learning about energy, buoyancy and balance. Some of the projects include a pirate ship, crocodile bridge, airplane, spinning top, hockey player and more! Instruction provided by Bricks, Bots & Beakers.

Basketball After School (Grades 1-5)

Are your kids ready to have fun with basketball? This course is designed for young athletes to have an opportunity to learn and improve on their fundamental skills of basketball. We will develop these skills, such as passing, dribbling, shooting and more, through specific and proven developmental drills, playing 3 on 3 and playing 5 on 5 games. Bits, Bytes & Bots: Coding in Minecraft® (Grades 3-5)

If your kids love Minecraft® and spend hours moving blocks around and generally just clicking away, let us elevate their game. We will use redstone (in-game electricity) to help the kids make sophisticated traps and contraptions while learning about engineering and problem solving. Students will also be introduced to a modification that we use often to CODE inside the game. If they're going to play anyway, let's turn their passion into a massive critical thinking experience. Kids in Motion Hip Hop (Grades K-5)

Get your child active and groovin’ to age appropriate music and yoga inspired exercises. This hip-hop and fitness class is designed to encourage your young dancer to have fun and stay healthy through music and art. Students will learn the newest dance moves, as well as some old-school favorites! Young dancers will work on choreography and solo dance moves to be performed at the end of each semester. Instruction is provided by Onsite Youth Training.

Mad Science: Crazy Chemworks & More! (Grades K-5)

Young scientists will encounter science in a fun, hands-on environment that incorporates the educational standards required by the STAAR test. Join Mad Science in a semester of crazy chemworks including: Lab Works, Junior Reactors, PH Phactor, Slime Time, Super Sticky Stuff, Dry Ice Capades, Detective Science, Bugs, Mad Science Machines, Earthworks, Movie Effects and Science of Toys. Young scientists will learn all about chemistry, simple machines, investigative science, the secrets of dry ice and more! In addition, young scientists have the opportunity to continue exploring at home with their own take-home projects after each lesson.

Simply Soccer (Grades K-5)

SimplySoccerSA offers young athletes the chance to learn fundamental skills and terminology of the great game of soccer. Each week will consist of learning a new skill or two to include dribbling, passing, shooting and control. We will end each class practicing learned skills in a game like setting. At SimplySoccerSA we also focus on character, teamwork, leadership and helping others which young athletes can take beyond the soccer field. All participants will be required to wear tennis shoes (no sandals/flip-flops/heeled shoes or boots will be allowed to play for safety reasons). Water for breaks and all equipment such as soccer balls, cones and goals will be provided. Classes will be held outside in the fields and will be moved into a gym on inclement weather days (to include days with extreme heat).

Snapology: Creature Creator Robotics (Grades 1-5)

In Snapology's Creature Creator Robotics class, your animal lover will create their own animal inspired robotic models. Students will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming as they build insects, dolphins, gorillas, dinosaurs and much more. Students are sure to have a wild time as they build, learn, and play while practicing teamwork and problem solving under the guidance of Snapology instructors. Students will even make their animal robots come alive using a drag and drop programming format on iPads® and WeDo® 2.0 robotics equipment provided by Snapology.

Spanish Fun Club (Grades K-5)

This class is specially designed to help children learn Spanish through fun activities in a singular environment. We call it learning without noticing. The sessions are taught entirely in Spanish. The classes provide plenty of opportunities for kids to enjoy the Spanish language and begin speaking it on day one. By learning Spanish your child will acquire a competitive advantage for life! Texas Cheer (Grades K-5)

Students will learn all the basics of cheerleading, including cheer stunt instruction, jumps, motions and more in a dynamic environment. They will also have the option to perform in the Texas Cheer and Dance shows throughout the year, including a Spurs Game performance. Although optional, uniforms will be discussed during the first class. Instruction provided by Texas Cheer and Dance.
