Genealogy: The Basics

Find out about your ancestors. Learn how to use computer and printed resources ranging from genealogical software and databases to the San Antonio Public and Mormon Family History libraries. When you complete this course, we will have endeavored to find the basics of your family tree for at least five generations and you will have a working knowledge of how to continue researching your family. Guided Kayak Nature Tour

Come and learn about all the wildlife that calls the San Antonio River home in this two-hour tour! Your instructor, Sarah Neal of Mission Adventure Tours, will guide you down a two mile, gentle flatwater paddle where wildlife will be spotted and discussed. You will see many different species of turtles, waterfowl, wading birds and birds of prey. Bring a waterproof camera to take your own wildlife photos. Sarah is an American Canoe Association Level 2 kayak instructor.

Get outside and enjoy the waterways of San Antonio! Learn kayak terminology, river terminology, proper paddling techniques, how to self-rescue, river signals, how to plan a trip and how to select the appropriate kayaking gear for your needs. This class is taught at Acequia Recreation Area and concludes with a scenic paddle. A $10 supply fee, which covers all rental gear, is payable to the instructor at the beginning of class. Are you looking for a fun date idea or a new activity to do with friends? Join Mission Adventure Tours on a social kayaking paddle trip. Puppy Kindergarten

Bring your fur baby to this exciting class to begin the proper steps in training it to be the best companion ever! All pups eight weeks to five months are welcome. Topics to be taught include: potty training, proper socialization, leash training, simple command words, good manners, toy choices and much more.
