This hands-on, computer-based course will teach you how to upload photos and documents, connect existing family trees, use the AncestryApp, DNA networking, accessing international records, understanding of sources/databases, advanced search and explore the 'green leaf' a lot further. You must be a current paid Ancestry.com subscriber in order to see all documents and enroll in the class. Dog Obedience, Intermediate

If your dog has passed a basic obedience course, take advantage of this next step that is designed to challenge and strengthen previously taught commands and obtain a higher level of obedience. Be sure your dog has mastered the commands of sit, heel, stay, come and down; then bring your Rover or Lassie to "graduate school" to learn off-leash walking, stand (from a sit and stand stay), out of sight stay and new commands. At the pet's first class session, you will be required to provide proof of current vaccinations. Linda Weniger is the instructor. Registration fee is for one dog and one person.

Guided Kayak Nature Tour

Come and learn about all the wildlife that calls the San Antonio River home in this two-hour tour! Your instructor, Sarah Neal of Mission Adventure Tours, will guide you down a two mile, gentle flatwater paddle where wildlife will be spotted and discussed. You will see many different species of turtles, waterfowl, wading birds and birds of prey. Bring a waterproof camera to take your own wildlife photos. Sarah is an American Canoe Association Level 2 kayak instructor.

Kayaking 101

Get outside and enjoy the waterways of San Antonio! Learn kayak terminology, river terminology, proper paddling techniques, how to self-rescue, river signals, how to plan a trip and how to select the appropriate kayaking gear for your needs. Come learn to play with a wiffle ball and a paddle on a badminton-sized court. Pickleball is designed for both men and women, no matter your age or physical limitation. You will get the hang of footwork, balance, scoring and all the fundamentals. "Pickleball rocks" says instructor and pickleball ambassador Sandra Carrillo, a retired teacher who conducts clinics city wide. Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.
