"What are you looking at?" Art appreciation is about how to look at art for both formal elements like line, color and shape, as well as historical significance and background. This class will provide a foundation in art vocabulary, art materials, theories for interpreting art and historical information. You'll take an educational journey from Ancient art to the Post-Modern world. Michelle Hill, a local art history instructor will be your guide. Beginner Golf Summer Crash Course

Join us at SilverHorn Golf Club for this two week "crash course" to learn the game of golf. With four, 2-hour sessions in a two week span you will be submerged in the golf basics. Dog Grooming

This class is designed to help you learn how to control different behavioral problems that your dog exhibits. Learn techniques to keep paws off of you as well as your new chair. Dog Obedience

Don't be taken for a walk anymore! Know all the proper techniques for training your dog using positive reinforcement. A basic skill will be taught each week such as the heel, sit, stay, come and down commands. Learn the tricks to solving behavior problems. At the pet's first class session, you will be required to provide proof of current vaccination. Equipment will be discussed and will be available for purchase if necessary. Pickleball

Imagine a game that is a cross between tennis, ping pong and badminton. Sound strange? It is Pickleball and it's the fastest-growing sport in the world. Come learn to play with a wiffle ball and a paddle on a badminton-sized court. Pickleball is designed for both men and women, no matter your age or physical limitation. You will get the hang of footwork, balance, scoring and all the fundamentals. "Pickleball rocks" says instructor and Pickleball ambassador Sandra Carrillo, a retired teacher who conducts clinics city wide. Wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Bring you own paddle or use a loner paddle that will be provided. A $5 ball fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.

San Marcos River Trip

Join us for a 5.5 mile kayak trip down the lazy San Marcos River. The banks are lined with Cypress, Sycamore and Pecan trees and populated with Heron, Egret, Crane, Hawks, Eagles, Turtles, Havelina, Longhorn and much more. The actual time in the water is approximately 3 hours of easy and relaxed paddling with a chance of an involuntary swim. Tekin's Rapid, the only rated rapid, may add a touch of excitement to the trip. Texas Pack and Paddle will guide you down the San Marcos River from Martindale to Staples. The Mission Reach Paddle Tour - King William Section

Come see San Antonio from a different perspective. This is a guided kayak trip for those of you wanting to experience the San Antonio River King William Mission Reach Portion. It is an easy, slow paddle. We will start downstream at Guenther and paddle upstream towards Nueva St. and then back to our put-in location. The round-trip is approximately 1.6 miles. Supplies for the trip can be found by visiting https://communityed.neisd.net. You'll meet at 100 E. Guenther behind the San Antonio River Authority building. Texas Pack and Paddle will be your guide for the trip.
